About Superb by Design

Jennifer Halloran - October 2014

I’m Jennifer Halloran – owner, operator and sole employee of Superb by Design. My role is project manager, team coordinator, idea generator, usability advocate and web programmer/coder.

I started designing websites as a hobby in 1999. I was a nanny at the time and worked for a smart lady who managed her boss’s website. She asked for my help with something and I showed her some tricks. She was impressed by what I knew and convinced me to start freelancing. She even helped me get my first two clients.

In 2003, I moved to Northern Kentucky. I worked in the corporate world for a while and found a job I loved working with people I enjoyed spending time with. I was still managing a few websites on the side and really thought I was happy. Looking back, I think I was really just busy and making lots of friends.

After being laid off in 2008 for the second time by the same company (they had rehired me three months after the first layoff), I decided I would make my business a full-time endeavor and never be reliant on someone else for my paycheck again.

I started learning the newest techniques and standards for website development, setting myself apart by being the nerd who could talk to people without the technical jargon. I’ve made it my mission not  just to churn out websites, but to create beautiful marketing sites that showcase my clients’ talents and help their businesses grow.

I have created websites for a large variety of businesses including: dentists, certified public accountants, bakeries, jewelers, artists, non-profit organizations and many more. After so many years, my portfolio is pretty extensive. You can see some of it here.
